Today we applied the three properties of logarithms to expand logarithmic expressions.

I introduced the 3 basic properties of logarithms and proved the first one.

Homework: Prove the second property to be true following the logic of the proof from class.

How do you solve an exponential equation? You can make the bases equal, the powers equal, or bust out a logarithm. The first two are dealt with here.

Today, we wrote exponential functions based upon two points on the graph. This is similar to finding the A value for polynomial and rational functions.  
Homework: the word problem at the end dealing with abandoned buildings in Detroit and writing an equation containing ((1, 10) and (7, 53)
